Fast Forward to Fall

It is clearly much easier to keep up a blog during the winter months! I hope to get back into regular weekly (or so. . . I'm not a very routine person) posts now that the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. This is going to be a long post, but we have a lot we want to share with our friends and family that read this blog.

The end of July was a very sad time for the Nelson family, in that we lost our sweet Grandma Nelson. She was a wonderful woman and we loved our late nights of card playing that she always treated us to when we were lucky enough to spend time with her in Kemmerer.
On August 22, we were able to get together with most of the Nelson family to remember Grandma. It was a beautiful day that Elaine and Doug hosted and we really enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone. It was also great to get to visit with Grandpa while we were home. Below is a picture of most of Stephen's family on his Dad's side. Unfortunately we didn't get this picture taken until Grandpa and some of Stephen's cousins had already headed home for the day!
This past weekend we were able to celebrate a much happier occasion and that was the marriage of our close friends Naomi and Doug Rhodes! The wedding was so much fun and both Annika and I truly enjoyed being part of their day! Naomi and Stephen are super close friends too, and I know that if he would have agreed to wearing a dress, she would have signed him up too! Thank you Naomi and Doug!

Of course, Annika stole the show as the flower girl! She was quite thrilled with her pretty pink dress and wasn't too shy about telling people that she was "beautiful." She decided to fall asleep during the ceremony on my shoulder. I think she was saving energy for the reception because she was a dancing queen for hours on end once the music started playing!

Here is what we all looked like in our fancy get-up for the festivities!
What else has our little Miss Annika been up to you ask?
She has been keeping busy by:
attending 5 different birthday parties (3 for 3 year olds, 1 for her dad (Stephen, 29), and 1 for my Great Uncle Odean who turned 80!) . . . .
attending dance class. . . . . . . .
working on her sassy attitude and fashion statement. . . . . .
and continuing to be our sweet little girl! We love her so much!

Annika is such a cutie!

I'm sorry to hear about Grandma Nelson. (And I don't have anything else that's not trite to say - sympathy to you all, anyway.)

But it sounds like you've been having lots of fun otherwise! Looking forward to more posts!
