Mom and I headed out to see David in New York City for 5 days in the middle of the month. This was a great adventure and we have so many stories to share. David spoiled us by treating us to Riverdance and putting us up in fancy hotels (the Waldorf Astoria for a couple nights even!!). We ended up spending the night with the first lady at the Waldorf, and although we didn't see her we saw a lot of her secret service agents. We saw the Today show (don't get me started on how we so would have been 3 feet from Matt, Ann, & Meredith had we not left 15 minutes too early), an incredible 9-11 memorial musuem and photo display, South Pacific on Broadway (amazing!!!!!), Hell's Kitchen flea market (mom and I had a blast), the Botanical Gardens, the Hamptons, and the list goes on! We packed our 3 days in New York (2 days of travel) FULL of fun! It seems everywhere we went fun adventures followed. For example, we took a quiet ride out to the Hamtons on Sunday to see the lighthouse and have a picnic and we found ourselves in the middle of a wild Irish celebration and parade for St. Patty's day. It was a hoot! Here are some pictures of the trip and some more stories to go along with them . . .
We enjoyed the views from the "Top of the Rock!" The views from David's office windows were even more incredible. We went up to his office on our last night there.
The Cuban Orchid display was being featured at the Botanical Gardens, and it was a breathtaking display. I couldn't believe the Orchids! This is a picture of mom at the display.
Mom and I spiced up our boring Wyoming wardrobes with some fun scarves we found at a shop while waiting in line for our South Pacific Broadway Tickets. This picture was taken right after we came out of 9-11 musuem. It was a really neat museum that did a great job of paying respect to those lost in the attacks as well as telling the story of the recovery efforts. The things that took my breath away were the parking stubs marked 9/11/01, a September 2001 Oprah magazine. . . everyone was going about life as normal on that fateful day.

Thought I'd better capture a picture of my brother near the Wall Street sign as it seems significant! :) We are proud of you David. Also, David is getting pretty buff these days. He works out like a wildman.
David and I at the Rockefeller Center. You can see the ice skating rink behind us in the background.

I thought this picture was a nice oxy moron - I am laying on the bed at the Waldorf Astoria while sporting my Hell's Flea Market finds - the groovy ski jackets ($25), and Dan Post Cowboy Boots ($45. . .regularly ~$250) for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Mom and I had a blast at the flea market and we both found some jewelry too!
I feel very lucky that I was able to go back to NYC one more time before David move's off to Boston, and it was really nice to be able to spend some time with Mom & David. Thank you to Stephen for staying in Cheyenne with a sick little Annika while I was off playing. She ended up with a nasty cold, but Dad had her almost healed up by the time I got home.
So, I arrived home from NYC on Monday and Stephen left for Sheridan for an audit trip on Monday. Since he was out of town . . . . Annika and I got a wild hair and snuck over to Laramie to watch the Cowgirls give the BYU Cougars (BOOOOOO. . . . ) a run for their money in the NIT tournament. The Cowgirls lost by a few, but they will be tough next year! Annika REALLY enjoyed the game and seemed to follow the fact that we were cheering for White and we wanted them to make baskets. She'll be dribbling between her legs in no time!

Stephen got home from a very stressful week on the road on Friday, and we packed up the truck and were on the road within hours to take in a very relaxing yet very fun-filled weekend at a cabin near Centennial (by Laramie). I was able to have a lot of fun with my camera trying to capture all of the fun we adults ended up having when we attempted to take Annika and Katie sledding (they weren't super thrilled, but as you'll see in the slide show we MORE than made up for the fun that they didn't have)!

What fun! Love the slideshow of the cabin trip. (Jealous!)
FYI - Boston's not much further from here than NYC is....
What great photos of the sledding!
