Basement update

Well the basement is still moving in the right direction. Drywalling-mania continues! I actually totally love all of the work that we are doing in the basement. I asked Stephen the other day if he liked drywalling, and he said. "NO!" I guess I am nuts, but we do both agree that it is going to be AWESOME when it is finished. We are now taking reservations for CFD 2009! ;)

As you can see from these pictures we have one room totally drywalled (we haven't started the mudding/taping adventures yet), and the 2nd bedroom is nearly done. The office is also well underway. I estimate 3 more hard hitting weekends of drywall before we can move onto the mudding, but we'll see. Here are some photos:


The smaller bedroom . . . what a difference some drywall on the walls makes to help you see what a room will look like. I thought it might seem small, but I think it will be a decent sized room.


The thumbs up has a double meaning - first is "I love Drywalling." Second is - "Yes it is still attached." Last weekend I got in a battle with the box cutter while scoring the drywall for a cut. It resulted in a bit of lost blood, a day's worth of lost work, a tetnus shot, and some whining from me. It wasn't bad enough for stitches but I did slice right up through the nail. I hope it grows back!


And of course we are always happy to show off our helper. Here Annika is rasping a piece of drywall.
