Basement Update

Hooray! The drywalling is FINALLY complete (well, except for the doorway that my mom noticed was like 9 feet tall when she was down there this weekend. . . I'll have to fix that!). Now we are onto a new, challenge. . . mudding and taping. And challenging it is! We are learning and off to a slow start. I am still confident that we can have the walls done and carpet laid before CFD 2009 (last full week of July). I am not sure I can guarantee a completed bathroom or doors on any of the rooms, but at least their might be some somewhat inhabitable living quarters by then!

This photo is of my proud under the stairs storage solution. Through each of those little doors is a giant storage cubby! I think they are awesome. . . Stephen is far from convinced! I keep telling him to just bear with me.

This photo is taken standing in the living room and looking back towards the base of the stairs and into the bathroom. The 9 foot doorway (slight design flaw by the chief architect. . . that's me) is on the left. The photo is so spotty because my dad was sweeping away and kicking up dust and I was in a hurry to get the picture. Thank you mom and dad for all of your help again this weekend.

And . . . at long last - our first picture of mudding and taping. Hopefully there won't be too many to follow because we will just fly through this step and right on to texturing, priming, painting, etc! Yeah right!
